Activation error in DTP

Hi,

I am trying to modify a DTP and activate the revised version. Normally, this procedure doesn't give any errors, but I am getting the error given below. I also checked the revised DTP for errors before trying to activate and didn't get any errors. I thought that normally the revised version, when activated, will replace the existing active version. I am doing this in Production system directly, after opening it for changes. Does this have anything to do with the error?

Diagnosis

Errors arose when activating Data Transfer Process DTP_45NOLXDTAI8VGX8IHUDTQ2HE1. An active version already existed before the activation.

System Response

Data Transfer Process DTP_45NOLXDTAI8VGX8IHUDTQ2HE1 could not be reset to the old active version. Since the generated objects no longer correspond to the old active version, they were reset to inactive.

Procedure

The old active version of Data Transfer Process DTP_45NOLXDTAI8VGX8IHUDTQ2HE1 can no longer be used. Remove the cause of the activation error and activate Data Transfer Process DTP_45NOLXDTAI8VGX8IHUDTQ2HE1 anew.

Hi,

I believe the note 983135 describes the problem that you are facing. Please implement the note and tht issue will get resolved.

what are the changes you did to the DTP?

just try the Note it'll address your issue

i don't know what support pack level you may be on...

However, please consider applying Note 1145673 (there may be a bunch of dependent Notes based on your SP level) - the description of the Note may not appear to be relevant, but this Note has been used to resolve symptoms reported by you. Once Note has been applied, you'll need to eactivate Transformation & DTP etc

This issue has surfaced since Support Pack Stack 14 and BI SP 16
