Hello,

My client business requirement is to get a pop up if an equipment falls under warranty period, for this I just entered warranty start date and warranty end date in equipment record and I got pop up based on configuration settings, But I am wondering what is the use od Master warranty here, is entering master warranty an mandartory or warranty process or can I just use just warranty start date and warranty end date. Please advise.

Master warranty is not mandatory. Warranty start date and end date are enough to pop up the message window during Notification /Order. This start date and end date is applicable for whole equipment. Master warranty is used when different parts/components of the equipment have different warranty.

ie, You can specify whether certain parts/service/component, are included or excluded from warranty.

For example:

Engine: Included

Body: Included

Corrosion protection: Included

Damages to canopy hood: Excluded

Warranty could be time based or counter based (for example for 3 years or 60000 KM )

The master warranty controls the warrant period.

Also, the master warranty can be used in reporting e.g. how many active "12M Vehicle Warranties" do we have etc..
