Roles in Portal

Guys,

I am creating a new Role using a PFCG, for this role I am adding a tcodes from Menu tab...I do not want this role menu to show up in Portal if I assign this role to a User? How can I avoid showing a Role menu in Portal? at the same time I do not want to add Manually S_TCODE object as well? Can some one suggest me better way of doing this...

Thanks,

KK

Portal roles and PFCG roles are 2 different objects so creating

PFCG roles will not also create a portal role unless you are

uploading the roles to portal. Therefore you can create a PFCG

role and assign it to a user in the backend and this will

not be visible to the user in the portal.

If you are asking how to "hide" a menu or even tcodes, the

approach that I have used is to create a folder in PFCG called

"hidden", when you upload this role to the portal, you can

then set the attribute for this folder to "not visible" in

    portal.

Thank JC for the valuable input.

Let me ask you a question in the same lines. I created a new query and wanted to assign the Query to a Role using BEX. I tried doing this through Query designer in BW 3.5, I was able to publish to a role by clicking the Publish Icon to a role no errors. When I tried opening the query (which I saved previously) from BEX by clicking the roles tab I did not see any queries assigned to my role? I did not even see a the role assigned to me??

Can you please clarify how I can publish a Query to a role through BEX?
