Dear All,

Hope you are all doing well. Here's an IQ problem I'm facing, Please kind have a look.

1. Customer has an IQ db server running well for 2 years -- it's using a License server with IQ_CORE license. And they didn't noticed that this IQ server didn't have eth0 only have eth1, but it's fine for 2 years.

2. Now they need to install an ASE on it, to licese that ASE, they have to change the eth1 to eth0 on this Server. After change, the IP is still the same old IP, only net card's ID was changed from eth1 to eth0. After change, they rebooted the IQ server, and find it can be started.

3. But after this change -- customer find the IQ can't work fine. The IQ's network interface will auto hang after about 30 minutes after reboot each time. And the error message in iqmsg looks like --

4. But they tested once they changed the eth0 back to eth1--then the IQ will work fine again...

I really have no idea on this issue, Please kind help. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Instead of license server, if you tried unserved license does that work ?

It is quite possible that when the license key for IQ server was created for license server host , it may have stored Eth1 related information. Another thing to try would be , checkin the old license and regenerate new license with Eth0 information

Hi Harpreet,

Thank you very much... Yes. I've asked customer to generate a unservered license for this IQ server to have a try -- but their IQ licenses were bought by the HQ org under Enterprise permission so that they can't get a seperated unserved license file ... So they can't test this way...

I also don't know how to check the license server's information -- eg. how many IQ registered to it and what licenses were distributed -- if it can be checked maybe we can find something...

You should be able to get some assistance from an engineer in the XX-SER-LIKEY-SYB component. They should be able to get you details on the licenses the customer may have.
