HANA as Primary DB and HANA as Secondary DB

Hi Team ,

I have confusion :

what is meant by HANA as primary DB and HANA as secondary DB .

what is External view and database procedures proxies .

when we use them and for what purpose we use them .

If you can explain with some examples like systems landscapes etc , we can understand better .
