Dear All,

We have a issue with planning calendar. My material is a trading good - with set up as MRP Type - 'VB' , Lot Size as 'FX' . I am using planning calender which has the setting of creating proposal on Tuesday of every week and is assigned to the material.

When I create PO in ME22N or PR in ME51N; for delivery date calculation - system consider the planned delivery time and then moves the delivery data to next Tuesday taking planning calendar in to consideration.

Now when in create PR through MRP run (MD02 / MD03 / MD01); system is not considering the planning calendar- It just takes planned delivery time in to account and updates the delivery date.

Whether any one came across this situation - why this different behavior when MRP creates PR? Any further settings are required? Please let me know if any feedback.

I was reading some other posts and it says for planning calendar to be used - it should be either period lot size procedure to be used or time phased planning MRP type to be used!

Thank You in Advance

Regards

Sandeep.

Thank You Jurgen for your feedback. I read this F1 help and understood the cases. Jut got confused why it behaves differently when I create PO / PR manually and when I create it through MRP

See OSS note 2280565 - Unexpected default delivery date in ME21n

In the cause section it is explained how a delivery date is determined when you do ME21N

The F1 help to the planning calendar explains when it is considered in MRP.

Let's assume MRP creates requisitions where the planning calendar is not taken into consideration, wouldn't then the logic of ME21N automatically change the the delivery date from the requisition into the desired delivery date considering the planning calendar?

Thanks Jurgen for inputs.

I checked with the F1 help in planning calender field and after disucussion with business they cannot change the MRP Type or lot size. They need it to be VB and FX respectively with planning calender to be considered.

Manual PO and PR creation do not have any issue as it considers planning calender with this set up.

Only MRP generated PR have issue with the setup. But once MRP creates a PR and later when we convert this to a PO using ME59N / Job; it copies the delivery date from PR only. The system is not recalculating the delivery date when we copy if from PR.

I think one way we can acheive is making the system to recalculate the delivery date during PO creation instead of copying it from PR.

Will implement BADI / EXIT to go through the delivery date calculation again when PO is created copying from PR
