For a existing universe , the data foundation is based on a Library IBM Iseries V7.

We copied the AS400 library : ex.DWH to DWHPROD.

We created a new ODBC connection to access new library DWHPROD

We linked the Data foundation to the new connection to access DWHPROD containing the same tables .

We check integrity , the table are not retrieved.

How we can do without recreating the Business Layer and data foundation.

Hi Mohammed,

It doesn't work, finaly we copy the library on an other system with the same name and it works.

but it is not the goal, we would like to be able to copy a library on the same system with another name of course.

We proceeded like that :

1) we created the new connection for the new library, The new AS400 library is a copy of the original library

Copy lib :infocentre --> Infocentre2

2- We affected the new connection to the DF

3- We Refreshed structure : IDT detected that the tables are not existing in the new library and the tables were deleted in the DF and the BL the objects of course are not working

IDT considers the name of the table + name of library, so we are obliged to copy on an other system with the same name

Is there another solution ?

Once the change connection is completed, check the followings.

  • On the Toolbar click 'Refresh Structure' of the Data foundation (no tables should be missing).
  • The Ownername.tablename.columnname (Schema Name, Table Name, Field Name) should be same for new connection from Data base.
  • Run the Integrity checker and Export to the repository if no errors are encountered.
