Hello,
This may not be right question here. Since i am XI guy i am trying to understand IDOc bit. When i import idocs, like cremas.cremas01, creamas.creams02....
What is 01 and 02 represents... are they versions
or it represently different functionality altogether.
Thanks,
Srini
Srini,
Yes you are absolutely right, they are versions. In each version there might be enhancement.

Hey
in very crude terms you can think of IDOC's as SAP's equivalent of an EDI message, since EDI is not an SAP proprietary so inorder to keep IDOC's(SAP proprietary) up to date with the industary standards(non-SAP proprietary) enhancements are done to the existing IDOC structure and hence a new version number is given.
Thanx

Hello,
every new version can only get new elements, but never remove elements.
If you go in transaction 'wedi' to IDoc Documentation you can see for each version from which release on it's avaible.
