Storage location determination.

Hi

How storage location is determine in a sales order?

Some time it is happening that in sales order storage location is not determining autometically , we need to put that manually of course by pressing F4.

What setting could be done so that storage location will be picked up automatically in the sales order.

The solution for this question is already posted by somebody. Before posting a question doing a quick search will definitely get you a solution I guess.

Anywayz, I am copying the solution that somebody posted before for you:

First do the following :

Shipping pt + Plant + storage conditions.

So, goto OVL3 transaction and maintain the entries and enter the sto. location.

Next

Go to MM02, give the material code and select the view "MRP2".

Now you can see a field "Prod. stor. location". Maintain the storage location whatever you want to flow in sale order and save. Now create a sale order and you will see the storage location is flowing automatically.

Have you maintained in omb2 ??. If not, maintain for plant and movement type and then retry.

Hello,

goto SPRO and follow this menu path:

Logistics execution->Shipping->Picking->Determine Picking Location->Define Rules for Picking Location Determination

You can define one picking rule for each delivery type. The picking rule

defines how the system determines the picking location.

Standard settings

The following picking rules exist for determining the picking location;

you cannot change them in Customizing:

o MALA enables you to determine the picking location according to:

- Storage condition

- Delivering plant of the delivery item

- Shipping point of the delivery (see the section on Shipping

point determination)

o RETA enables you to determine the picking location according to:

- Storage location

- Delivering plant of the delivery item

- Situation

This rule is particularly important for retail scenarios.

You set up this rule in plant master control (Logistics - General)

in Maintain plants.

The delivering plant is automatically determined in the sales

Finally assign stroge locations in the Picking Location Determination step.
