Hello Experts,

Do we have a possibility of handling exceptions(such as divide by zero exception or exceptions when we try converting nvarchar to date etc.) in graphical calculation views.

We have been currently adding these checks manually but thought it would be easier if it comes directly from HANA something similar to what we have in SQL procedures (Delcare Exit handler).

The expressions that you can use in calculated columns in graphical calc. views do not provide explicit error handling.

Calc. views, just as SQL statements, are declarative and your model represents what rules and conditions your result sets should conform to, but not how the result sets are computed. That means, of course, that there is no alternative line of execution (what you typically have, when you handle exceptions).

What you can do, however, is to use some of the test functions like isnull() or dats_is_valid() or dats_is_inital() and the like to have the option for conditional rules for your data.

Thanks Lars. What I understand is that you don't have an option to handle exceptions like we do in SQL procedures but you have to handle specific cases using functions like isnull(), dats_is_valid() etc.
