In XMLSpy you can generate XSD based on XML. Go to main menu -> DTD/Schema -> Generate DTD/Schema ...

check this on as a primer

hi

Following is the path where you could get the PDF's and zip file.

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/howtoguides?rid=/webcontent/uuid/5024a59a-4276-2910-7580-f52eb789194... [original link is broken]

please check out the following Heading, and at the bottom corner you will find the download option where you will get the zip file:

How to Generate XSD Schemas from Existing MDM 5.5 Repositories

You can download xomlite45.jar from sdn

copy the jar file to your java installation location like c:>javain

Java –jar xomLite45.jar MyFile.xml

then you get correspondig MyFile.xsd

Hi gabriel,

I tried what you had mentioned and I got the error as:

Please let me know if you can suggest an alternative.

I can't use Altova as it doesn't give me a trial key for my personal use.

Thanks,

Arkesh

Hi Suman,

Open your XML document in AltovaXMLSpy.

Go to the TAB "DTD/Schema"---->"Generate DTD/Schema".

It would ask you for the location(where to store) and name the schema file.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Open your XML document in ALTOVA AMLSPY and then go to DTD/SCHEMA in the Menubar and select the option "Generate DTD/SCHEMA" and click OK.Than it would create the document which u can save to your local drive and import that into XI as External Definition.

for your reference check the following thread too:

Thanks,

hi,

If you have .net framework installed ,then there is a command line tool with name "xsd.exe". Using this you can create XSD file from ur XML file.I am giving u the link about how to use it.

XML to XSD converter

Also try Altova Xml spy tool for doing the same.
