query formula problem BW 3.5

Hi,

we are working on BW 3.5 and we have a simple query with a wrong total, we have tried to show total as summation but it's not an acceptable solution because customer is not in default drill down

Customer        Quantity         Price        Sales
C1               3               5             15
C2               11              2             22
Total            14              7             98 (should be 15 + 22)

thanks, but it's not a solution as i sayed the customer is not always in the drill down, displaying result as summation is only a display option

any other ideas ?

best and easiest way it to calculate it in the back-end, ie BW, hence your calculation does not depend on online input it can easily fit in a BW transformation.

Or set in your key figure exc aggregation on customer on sum

this is what i am trying to do, exception aggregation on customer but when i choose summation as exc aggregation type the charachteristic liste box to choose the customer is grayed out, if i choose an another aggregation type (last, max etc) the query designer let me choose the exc aggregation characteristic without any problem.

how did you manage to get it work with summation ?

I did in BW 7.X, to be honest, I overlooked your BW 3.5 mention. My apologies

I have no BW 3.5 installation at my disposal, so I'm afraid I can't check in system.

Best advise is to work it out in BW. It should work fine that way.

Hi

I guess Sales= Quantity mulplied by Price, so what you get in you resultline is what you have defined. You'll need to set the calculation of your total line as SUM, go to properties of your formula -> calculation -> show result line as total

can you check and tell me what Property is there under the Formula Collision for the both Formula.

for the Formula 1 which is Total I guess for this if the setting is not like

'Use Result of Competing Formula'

then change it to the above mention and try to execute and see.
