Is there any functionality in the portal to set up like facebook.com

NW2004 Portal SP 17.

We are looking to add a "Facebook" type of page to capture the information of new sales reps. Management thinks portal might already have this feature out of the box. Kind of like the "My profile" section of SDN. I know of "Personalize" iview in the mast head -> User profile. But management wants the ability to add pictures, search features ...etc.
