SSO with KM document shortcut in MS Outlook

Hi Guys,

SSO was setup in our Portal and was successful implemented for months. This means that whenever a user login from Windows, he is able to get into the Portal without having to sign-in.

My question to all is, when we have an announcement via MS Outlook to our user community, which contains KM documents (like news, PDF etc) in the form of URL, the below scenarios are experienced.

Scenario1: With Internet Explorer (IE) open

User click on URL link from email and the KM document is presented in Internet Explorer (portal layout)

Scenario2: Without Internet Explorer (IE) open

User click on URL link from email and user get a pop-up asking for userID and password. Only after thats input, then user is able to see the KM document.

Can anyone pls share their experience and if there is a solution such that our enduser can access the KM document even without having an IE session open (so no pop-up asking for userID and password).

Thx

Ray
