Capacity check based on HU type and weight

Hi EWM experts,

Need your help to find out the option for the below requirement.

Requirement:
If a bin (XXX) capacity is 100KG, it should allow to putaway the stock based on the HU type as well the weight of the main bin.

I tried configuring pallet strategy and bin sectioning. It works for bin sectioning but weight capacity (100 KG) is not working. For HU type E1, 100 KG is spitted by three bin sectioning and it is not allowing me to putaway more than 33.333 KG per bin section.

HU type E1 - 3 pallet per bin

HU type E2 - 2 pallet per bin

So I tried with Rack storage and capacity check based on packaging material in storage type and volume check in the bin master. I will differentiate the HU type based on volume.

Is there is any other options available to match my requirement (Example: Bin should allow to putaway 1 pallet with 90 KG and 2 pallet with 5 KG.

Thanks

Loganathan

    Hi,

now, what do you want to check? HU-type or weight?

For an HU type check you check the flag in the storage type and you match HU types and bin types.

For the weight you maintain a maximum weight in the bin, well, and then the weights in your HUs must be maintained properly.

With pallet strategy, as you described, the max weight of the bins is distributed equally into the sections. So the max weight of the bin is probably never reached.

"capacity check based on packaging material" That is useful if you want to control the maximum number of HUs in a bin (capacity in the bin is 4; one HU needs the quantity 1 (maintained in the packaging material) = 4 HUs can be stored in the bin).

"If a bin (XXX) capacity is 100KG, it should allow to putaway the stock based on the HU type as well the weight of the main bin."

For this you activate the HU type check and you maintain a maximum weight in the bin. And then you weight your HUs (so that you know the correct weight). If you want to allow more then one HU, you need to allow mixed storage.

    Hi Juergen,

Thanks for your advise. My requirement is restrict the no of HU's as well weight in the bin.

    1. So for my requirement I cannot use pallet strategy because weight got distributed among the three bin section.

    2. I will try to use the capacity along with weight in the bin master data. (Storage type - Capacity check -2)

    3. Bin capacity as "6" and weight - 100KG. For packaging material, I have to use different packaging material for HU type E1 and E2.

    4. For E1 packaging material, i can maintain capacity as '2' and for E2 packaging material i can maintain capacity as '3'.

    5. So by point 4, i can store 3 E1 pallet in a bin or 2 E2 pallet in a bin.

Please advise if any other standard options available.

    Regards
