Save the data in a Action.

Hello,

I have two actions actionA and actionB.When the user fills the form and clicks Save in actionA,I want the data to get saved in "context" and the action should not get completed. The action will remain in his inbox. When the user logs in some other time and opens that action, he should be able to see the data filled last time.

The actionA should go to actionB, only when the user commits.

Please suggest a solution.

Callable objects are implemented using Webdynpro.

Warm Regards,

Suparna

    hello suparna,

    You can do this easily.

For step A, define an alternative block, have a decision action so as to have 2 result states.

Keep 2 buttons on the inout webdynpro. One for save and another for submit.

Have the result state corresponding to save back to the same action(recursive).

Map the result state corresponding to Submit to Block B.

    Bingo...its done.

Let me know if you still have any questions.

    Cheers,

    Mandrake

    Hi Mandrake,

We have achieved the same using a background task in between, an approach very similar to yours.

    Thanks for replying.
