Livecache 7.6.0 on Win 32 bit

Hi All,

We are planning installation of SCM IDES 5.0 on WIN 2003 32 bit EE

server.

The PAM says Livecache 7.6.00 is conditionally released for WIN 32 bit (SP 1 needed).

However, note no.863952 clearly states "You can not run liveCache 7.6.0

server on 32-bit Windows platforms".

Would appriciate details on the above issue.

Hi Kiran,

the "conditional" release only refers to the db client software that is needed to access the livecache. This client software is available as 32-Bit version.

That way it is possible to use 32-Bit application servers for the SCM system together with the 64-Bit liveCache.

As liveCache works as a in-memory database it is crucial to provide as much memory as possible to it. With 32-Bit platforms the limitations are just too tight for most of the productive planning/optimization scenarios. Thus liveCache is only released in 64-Bit version furthermore.
