I wanted to know how long does XI take to timeout in case it does not receive data from the receiver.

Shall we know which Receiver Adapter you are using. In Visual Admin we can mention the Timeout.

Hi Agasthuri,
We are using SOAP adapter in the receiver. Since its a synchronous call the time out is 3 mins. This was the answer I was looking for. I was helped with it by my peers.

The XI will wait for 3 minutes for response since that was the setting done in SAP XI .
Which adapter ur using its an syncronous call.
