MM Period CLosed inadvance

Hello,

We are using Calender year- fiscal year. Our MM person opened April inadvance.

Kindly let me know what are the impact in FI , MM & Inventory.

When we are releasing cost run, its saying too early to release. Is there any work-around method to resolve this problem.

Regards,

Venkat

    Hi,

I think MMPI is useful to solve this problem.

    Hi,

Before closing posting period or opening new period, you must be careful that all the transaction related to ur business process are posted. One you close period in MM side , its difficult to open again( more details follow the SAP notes 487381) So must ensure that all transactions like example GR, IR, are posted in MM side. In MM side you can check which period is open and back posting allowed or not in MMRV and you can do open new period in MMPV.

In FI side you can open period and post in the control of T. Code OB52.

      Dear Bijay,

      THanks for you info.

My concern as of now, now is there any way to release the cost run inspite of future period opened in MM. In clear now period in MM is 04, but as FY, it should be 03.

      Regards,

      Venkat

    Hi,

You can not roll back the MM period....

the MMPI trx is used for initializing for the MM period..

If MMD is not created, then you can change through OMSY directly...

Otherwise you need to open through MMPV trx...

As I said we can not roll back the MM period....You must be very careful

and also the The Authorization MMPV will be given to the key persons from client side..

    Thx

    Raju

    Hi,

To change the period as you wants in OMSY

    First,

De-assign the Plants from your Company code.

    and then

go to OMSY and enter the period as you want.

after all Assign the plants to the company code.

But, it will affects all of your ACCOUNTS in R/3 system.

Finally, you have to correct valuation grouping code in OMWD

To check this, do it in practising systems.

I did it while practising, but I don't know how far it works in real time...
