Hi,

R/3 is used to generate repots,scripts and data transfer.

apart from this what ever the data existing in R/3 can be extracted to BW for flexible reporting.

BW supports for flexible reporting and can be used as web application tool as well.so once we generate a report then we can send that report with portals or through email which is not possible with r/3
