Standard Cost - Bill of Material Cost Roll Up

Inventory components all have standard costs entered manually in inventory master definition.

I want to roll those costs through the bill of material to get a standard cost for the sub assemblies and parent items.

Is there a process to do that?

What if the standard for a component changes through inventory re-valuation. How does that change roll to the parent or sub assembly if I wish to re-standardize those items based on the component changes. Example, price for steel plate goes from $1 / lb to $1.50 / lb. I change the standard through inventory revaluation. Now everywhere that steel plate is used in a bill of material, I wish to roll the changes up. How is this done?

If you have the standard price stored in a pricelist, then using Update Parent Items Prices Globally in Production module, you can update the prices.

Rolling the cost change up through the price list still leaves Item Cost unchanged, correct? Then you could compare the newly rolled up price list to the Item Cost and still have to do the inventory revaluation one item at a time?
