Document currently locked error while approver tries to review the SC's

Hi SRM Gurus

User receives many SC’s to his EBP inbox.

He always opens up the details to review and then return to the approval page to try to approve.

Whenever he tries to review the document he received the error message as “Document Currently locked”.

Then the user is come out from the portal and log on a few hours later and then approve the SC’s without opening up the detail.

Please advice why User is getting the Document Currently locked error.

    Hi Sadasivam,

    This issue generally happens if some one is accessing the same document.

    Some times you get these weird kind of errors.Please check the following OSS note which actually helps in tracing where the error is getting generated.

    Note 903200 - Workflow tracing for problem detection

    Please check with other users whether they are facing similar kind of error or not while approving.

    How come this error is coming suddenly now ??

    Please look into these issues and collect more data to understand the error and get back to us for further help.

    Hi Teja

    Thanks for the update.

    User is able to review the SC, with the help of magnifying class and he is able to Back to approval and he is trying to approve the SC by approve button, he is receiving the error message as "Document currently locked".

    user logged off the EBP and he is login after few hours and directly click the approval button , the SC got approved.

    Only the problem at the time of review the document and try to approve , user is receiving the message as "Document currently locked".

    Please advise.

      If your user is using the back button on the browser a new session maybe started and the old one is still working. Check transaction SM04 and SM12 to see if the user is blocking his own approval and see if he has multiple sessions open.

      So the solution would be to instruct your user not to use the back button, but the links provided in SRM. Also, tell him to not enter the approval inbox again using the menu.
