Search for "*" as a literal character in SAP BW (display data)

I am displaying data from SAP BW (transaction code RSA1) and at the selection screen of the InfoProvider I want to check if a characteristic includes the character "*" in the string values. Can you please inform me what is the escape character for special characters? How can I search if the asterisk in included in a text without it being used as a wildcard?
