can we customize the column data coming into UWL?

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to add custom columns to the UWL. However, on the backend we do not have the custom attributes defined for these columns.

So, the requirement now is
Example: We have an attibute ADDRESS in the backend, but we need the column data as CITY on UWL.
similarly, based on the NAME and DESIGNATTION fields on the backend, we should calculate the salary and display it in the UWL column.

The question here is, can we achieve it by customizing the XML file? Or, do we need to do it only via custom application development.

Please help with your inputs.
