SAP Design Studio - Save bookmarks in new report version

Dear Community,

I have a problem with saving bookmarks into other report versions. I hope you can help me with that. It is about following scenario:

I have a report called TestReport_v1.0. In this report I have saved some bookmarks like Bookmark1, Bookmark2, and so on. Now if I close this report and open it again, the bookmarks are still there -> that's okay. But if I save this report as a new version, for example TestReport_v1.1 (therefore it's a new report file), the bookmarks are lost. How can I save the bookmarks also in another version?

Hi Vu,

DS 1.x version doesn't inherit bookmarks, but Lumira Designer which is 2.0 version of Design Studio inherits bookmarks even if you copy as a new application. I don't know if it is possible for you to upgrade your Design Studio to Lumira Deisgner, if you do, then you will get that functionality.

Hi Vu,

This behaviour is by design. If you save an existing application with bookmarks under a new name, you are effectively creating a new application which is independent of the original application, so it will have no bookmarks to begin with. You cannot inherit the bookmarks of the previous application.

Hi Mustafa,

so therefore I have to make changes twice.

One time for a test version like TestReport_v1.0 and one time for the "main" report TestReport_v1.1 so that the bookmarks won't be deleted...

Is that correct?
