Navigation Pane in WAD?

Hi,

Please explain me about the use of navigation pane in WAD.Actually I know what for it is used.But I am unable to add characterstics to the navigation pane.

I think you need to attach the Query as a dataprovider for the navigation pane web item in WAD.

Thanks.I forgot to assign the query as a data provider.Now I assigned the e query to the Navigation Pane .But I am not getting any navigation block after the execution.Can you please help me.

Is that you can't see the navigation pane at all in the report output or is it that you can't see any characteristic in the navigation pane????

Are you using the same query as dataprovider for the navigation pane and table????

Navigation Pane is not at all visible in the WAD execution.

Delete the current naviagation pane that you are using in the template.

Again drag the naviagation pane and assign the dataprovider as the query. Save the template . Make sure that you have not ticked any hide option in the properties of navigation pane (I am not very sure whether such properties exist)

Yes I did the samething Now I could see my Navigation Pane but even though I have given Free Characterstic I am getting all the infoobjects in the query designer.But Now I am not getting the Table (I used Analysis web template for this ).

Please help me.

I didnot understand the whole subject. To explain, Navigation pane in WAD is the Web item used for displaying the drilldown characteristics, available default characteristics and key figures under the 'Drilldowns or Navigation' in the web report.

You can make this visible or hidden. You cannot 'add' characteristics here, all the characteristics in the query will be visible by default. You must do the 'data binding' to this web item with the query (s) you want to drilldown.

If you are not able to see the navigation pane in the report would mean that the property is set as ' hidden ' in the web template in WAD.

Thanks.But Here I have given only Free charactertic as my option.But I am getting all Rows,Clumns and Free Characterstic.and the problem here is I am also not getting table which was appearing earlier but when the navigational block is appearing table is not appearing.

The web template must have been corrupted (this happens sometimes for unknown errors). Delete this template and create a new one or delete all items in the template and start afresh. You will surely get everything right.
