In all the presenations on the BO product integration with SAP frontend tools in the future I see no reference to whats going to happen with the BI component of Visual Composer will there be an xCelsius+ integration with SAP Visual Composer.

Visual Composer is part of the SAP Portal Suite. The roadmap clearly states though that the "Dashboarding" software is going to be XCelius. That being said, with the functionality of Visual Composer therefore, I am predicting that they will not grow that out much more either and will work on the XCelius instead.

My query is, I have a dashboarding requirement now. Which tool would be the best tool to use for development start Jun 2008? I would like to create it in XCelius but does that mean I have to pay for additional licensing to use the BO tool in 2008 or can I use it now and migrate it to Xcelius+ next year? There is no point in investing training and development effort in Visual Composer this year if it has to be changed next year.

hi

I agree with you: Going to Xcelsius is good as the SAP Road Map says that will be the future. Regarding Licencing u need to contact sales team. Definitely there will be some licencing cost.

Hi

As i could see from SAP BI and BO Road Map by 2009, WAD (Web Application Designer) and they might have skip visual composer but i feel that all SAP BI software tools available as of now for Dashboarding will be going to combine with XCelcius (BO Tool). Hence it seems better to implement Dashboarding features in BO XCelcius.

I have the same requirement for this year, dashboard with BI Query information to display.

The integration of VC 7.0 and BI is quite good. Even if VC isn't the superior front-end tool, I'm still leaning toward VC for now.
