Hello everyone,

We are using multi source unvierse with Oracle connection and SAP BW connection.

SAP Business Objects Version 4.1 Support Pack 5 Patch 1

On the frequent basis we get the error:

Database error: [Data Federator Driver] Cannot reach server. Reason: attempt to establish connection failed: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect. (IES 10901)

After that error and if we restart the report again Data ASP.Monitoring is crashing and initializing automaticely. After several tries and errors the Server has to be restarted, because there are to many not closed old sessions.

We discovered the problem appears if the query result from SAP BW Provider is empty. If we set the filter to the other value and we get some results from SAP BW the Report works fine.

The similar Problem is described in

http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?p=988621. but there is nothing about empty query result.

Has anyone the idea how to fix that bug?

Kind Regards,

Ekaterina

it would be strange for monitoring APS to crash when using DSL, unless you have dsl or data federation services in monitoring.

are you using registered RFC connection and is same mapped in the program Id mapping section in connection?

Have you created the individual APS for Data Federator serviecs?

I try to write now more explicitly.

We have to restart the BO Server because of Memory lack. The Cluster has 40 GB RAM. The Research has shown the Memory lack come from BO Data Federator. The server process (APS.Monitoring) generates in the OS log the error:

Faulting application name: java.exe (Exception code: 0x40000015). Cluster loses the Connection to that Server Prozess

(APS.Monitoring) and start the new (not usable) one. We have only one

(APS.Monitoring) as advised in SAP Standard and cannot see other logs and errors. The unusable Process still remains as zombi till reboot and allocates the Memory:

(Java.exe ist 3 and more times present in the Prozess Monitoring with 4.650.000 K.)

That situation with zombi Java.exe process comes every time the Multi Source Universe report crushs and it crashs everty time the query result from SAP BW ist empty.

So after a while (10 times) ist the memory on the server completely allocated and Server muss be rebooted.

The error in the report

Database error: [Data Federator Driver] Cannot reach server. Reason: attempt to establish connection failed: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect. (IES 10901)

RFC Connection is mapped like

programmIDMapping:

Server1name.APS.Monitoring=DF_JCO_Server1name_1;Server2name.APS.Monitoring=DF_JCO_Server2name_1

We have one APS.Monitoring per Server, not a separate for Data Federator Service.

split the APS and create dedicated APS server for Data Federator services. and try.
