the page size was not large enough to format the contents of an object in the report

A report that has been working for a long time suddenly started getting the above message when the amount of data in a sub-report exceeded a page. The main report has a number of sub-reports which are embedded in Detail Sections. Reading other posts, I moved all of the sub-reports to Group Footer sections instead. No effect. As soon as the amount of data to be displayed in one of the sub-reports exceeds a page, this error results. Suppressing all of the other sub-reports in the main report had no effect. The sub-report in question is very simple and looks like this:

I finally found another post which suggested turning off the 'Repeat Group Header on Each page' option. This solved the problem, but the client statements now look crappy. I would now like to figure out how I can get the header to show up on each page again correctly, without this error message popping up. Also, after making some changes to other parts of the report, the problem has come back again, so apparently this only temporarily fixed the problem.

Also, for the SAP development group, could you please just output the page and truncate whatever won't fit? My clients don't need to have error messages popping up - just slice to fit, and they can complain to me if something doesn't look right.

Thanks, Neil

    Hi Neil,

    What SP are you using?

Formatting pages depends on the default printer or selected printer you use in the report.

Try a different printer and don't select No Printer and you must select Dissociate also so it removes the dependency on the specific printer.

    Don
