One of the features that SAP Business One has is to mark GL Accounts as Control Accounts.
Once this is done, the application does not allow a user to pass any manual journal entries into this account.
The application only allows system journals (produced via various document processing activities).
Question I have is as follows:
Does SAP SDK allow addons to classify journals as system journals as well?
The issue we are facing is with using Fourth Shift Edition Addon as a Addon. The following modules(functions) are replaced by this addon as a result:
- Production (Manufacturing)
- Sales Order Processing
Accounts such as the Inventory GL Account, Work in Progress Account and GR/IR Accounts are considered Control Accounts.
With the current functionality, if these accounts are marked as Control Accounts then the Addon will crush as the control account bounces any journal posting.
The same issue applies to the SAP B1 Fixed Assets Addon.
- Is this a programming issue or a SDK limitation?
- How is this issue being addressed going forward?
The problems arise where user post entries into these accounts and this very easily places the control account out of balance with the Subsidiary.
In a high transaction volume business this is a real problem.
