Installation& Startsap Problem ( SAP NETWEAVER 7 ABAP TRIAL VER)

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hi All,

I am a newbie in SAP, I really want to learn it.but I have problem in the installation and start the program (SAP netweaver 7 abap trial)

fyi,I've tried to figureout this problem, follows the installation step, and looking around the similiar problem in this forum, unfortunatelly i cant find the solution...

Hope you can share with me the solution.

Thanks& regards

Arief

1.Installation problem

I just installed SAP netweaver 7 trial ver.

The installation was running well until the step when i should to choose "start the application server and start SAP management console". I didnt choose those opt,and decided to finish the installation (because if i chose those opt the installation would generated err result. (Please see the installation log on the log page below).

2. StartSAP problem

Next, I tried running the SAP manually, using the SAP menu (start-program-NSP-Start Application Server

But,the result was error ->with error result -->

"Start database failed"..the system can not find the path specified...more help by typing net helpmsg 2185...etc

I though this problem because I haven't started sap and running the database yet.

1. So I decided using command com or SAP management console to monitor and run the

system manually.

2. started database (maxdb)

1. Using command com to run SAP manually

I tried command com to start SAP manually as follow->

"c:/startsap name=nsp nr=00 sapdiahost=localhost"

but SAP was not run well, it's genereted error --> StartSAP failed (log is on the logpage below)

Next, I tried to monitor the system by open sap management console

On the console root, the server colour was yellow, then i opened the process list. It's shows that the msgserver was running well ( with the green colour) but the dispwork.exe status was stop (grey colour). Please see the developer trace of dispwork.exe on the log page below)

2. Start database (maxdb)

finally i guess that the problem cause was database,so i tried to start it out, using maxdb database manager. But when i tried to create a new database instance. It's written database instance was not found.

My questions.

1.What is the first step to run sap netweaver?...running the database first (create database instance) or running sap?...how about my cases?...i cant even running both of it at all...what should i do ?

2.As your info, i install all (SAP GUI, Application server, and database) in one single pc).Is it ok?

3.My memory is only 256. Is it ok?

4.I connect network using wireless and dhcp tcp/ip, is it ok?

5.It's look like only SAPNSP_00 running on my windows, is there anything else?

6.I also try running sap login (even i knew that the sapstart wasn't running well)..to give u an idea what else is wrong in my sap) the log trace on the log page below

7. Last, What should i do to run sap?...what step is missing?

Scenario 1: Dispatcher does not start due to a port conflict

Symptoms

No work processes (disp+work.exe) exist in Task Manager.

Dispatcher shows status "stopped" in the SAP MMC.

Errors found in "dev_disp":

***LOG Q0I=> NiPBind: bind (10048: WSAEADDRINUSE: Address already in use) http://ninti.c 1488

ERROR => NiIBind: service sapdp00 in use http://nixxi.c 3936

ERROR => DpCommInit: NiDgBind http://dpxxdisp.c 7326

DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpSapEnvInit: DpCommInit

DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

Problem Analysis

I highlighted the keywords in the error messages above:

Address already in use

Service sapdp00 in use

The TCP port number assigned in the "services" file is being occupied by another application. Due to the conflict, the dispatcher shuts down.

Solution

If your server has a firewall client, disable it and attempt to start the SAP instance again.

If the instance starts successfully you can enable the client firewall back again.

If there is no firewall client at all, or if disabling it did not resolve the problem, edit the "services" file and check what port the appropriate "sapdp" is using.

If the instance number is 00, look for sapdp00. If the instance number is 01 look for sapdp01 and so on. You can use the following OS command to help you resolve port conflicts:

netstat -p TCP

There are also utilities on the Internet that can help you list all the TCP and UDP ports a system is using.

Scenario 2: Dispatcher dies due to a database connection problem

Symptoms

No database connections.

No work processes.

SAP MMC -> WP Table shows all processes as "ended".

Errors found in "dev_disp":

DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

DpModState: change server state from STARTING to SHUTDOWN

Problem Analysis

A connection to the database could not be established because either the SQL login specified in parameter "dbs/mss/schema" is set incorrectly or the SQL login was deleted from the database server. This parameter needs to be set in the DEFAULT.pfl system profile (under /usr/sap/<SID>/sys/profile). In the messages above, we see that the SQL login 'tst' is expected but it does not exist at the database level.

Solution

Set the entry to the appropriate database owner. If the system is based on Basis <= 4.6 or if the system was upgraded from 4.x to 4.7 the database owner should be "dbo". But, if the system was installed from scratch and it's based on the Web AS 6.x the database owner should match the SID name in lower case. Example: if the SID is TST then the database owner should be "tst". If the parameter is set correctly in the DEFAULT.pfl profile check at the database level if the SQL login exists. If it doesn't, create it and give it database ownership to the <SID>.

Scenario 3: SAP does not start at all: no message server and no dispatcher

The message server and the dispatcher do not start at all in the SAP MMC.

The following error when trying to view the developer traces within the SAP MMC: The network path was not found.

No new developer traces written to disk (under the "work" directory.)

Problem Analysis

The network shares "saploc" and "sapmnt" do not exist. That explains the "network path not found" message when attempting to view the developer traces within the SAP MMC.

Solution

Re-create the "saploc" and "sapmnt" network shares. Both need to be created on the /usr/sap directory.

Scenario 4: Users get "No logon possible" messages

Symptoms

Work processes start but no logins are possible.

Users get the login screen but the system does not log them in. Instead, they get this error: No logon possible (no hw ID received by mssg server).

In the SAP MMC, the message server (msg_server.exe) shows status "stopped".

The dev_ms file reports these errors:

Thr 2548 *** ERROR => MsCommInit: NiBufListen(sapmsTST) (rc=NIESERV_UNKNOWN) http://msxxserv.c 8163

Thr 2548 *** ERROR => MsSInit: MsSCommInit http://msxxserv.c 1561

Thr 2548 *** ERROR => main: MsSInit http://msxxserv.c 5023

Thr 2548 ***LOG Q02=> MsSHalt, MSStop (Msg Server 2900) http://msxxserv.c 5078

Problem Analysis

Work processes were able to start but the message server was not. The reason is because the "services" file is missing the SAP System Message Port entry. Example: SAPmsTST 3600/tcp

Solution

Edit the "services" file and add the entry. Then, re-start the instance. Make sure you specify the appropriate TCP port (e.g. 3600) for the message server.

Scenario 5: The message server starts but the dispatcher doesn't

Symptoms

The dispatcher shows status "stopped" in the SAP MMC.

The "dev_disp" file shows these errors:

***LOG Q0A=> NiIServToNo, service_unknown (sapdp00) http://nixxi.c 2580

ERROR => DpCommInit: NiDgBind http://dpxxdisp.c 7326

DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpSapEnvInit: DpCommInit

DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

Problem Analysis

The keyword in the messages above is "service unknown" followed by the entry name "sapdp00". The dispatcher entry "sapdp00" is missing in the "services" file. Example: sapdp00 3200/tcp

Solution

Add the necessary entry in the "services" file. Example: sapdp00 3200/tcp Then, re-start the instance.

Scenario 6: Work processes die soon after they start

Symptoms

All work processes die right after the instance is started.

The SAP MMC shows work processes with status "ended".

Only one work process shows status "wait".

An ABAP dump saying "PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY" is generated as soon as a user logs in.

The SAP MMC Syslog shows the following error multiple times: "SAP-Basis System: Shared Memory for PXA buffer not available".

Problem Analysis

The instance profile contains misconfigured memory-related parameters. Most likely the "abap/buffersize" instance profile parameter is set to high.

Solution

Edit the instance system profile at the OS level under /usr/sap/<SID>/sys/profile and lower the value assigned to "abap/buffersize". Then, restart the instance. Also, it's important to find out if any other memory parameter were changed. If not, the system should start once the adequate memory allocation has been set to the the "abap/buffersize" parameter.

Hi,

This Issue has been solved.

Here are some step that I try...

1. What should we do if installation is failed before it finished?

step 1. Uninstall it

How?

We dont need 3'rd party software to clean the registry, just

follows this step.

- Stop the service process (Sap_NSP_00 is stop)

Start-ControlPanel-AdministrativeTools-Service

Find Sap_NSP_00 service...right Click and stop process

- Uninstall database(MaxDb)

Start-ControlPanel-AddAndRemovePrograme

Find MaxDb,Uninstall it

- Delete File (SAP and SAPDB) manualy

c:\SAP and c:\SAPDB

If delete process failed, run taskmanager to stop SAP

process and kernel.

- Delete file InstallShield

C:\Program Files\Common Files

- Clean the windows registry,by running regcleantools.

1.Run Regcleantools (Sapstartsrv.exe)

This tools can be found in the installation file

SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12\SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12

\RegCleanTool

2. Click Uninstall Service...

SID: NSP

NR : 00

- Restart Windows

step 2. Reinstalled.

Please read requirements below, before u installed it.

1. Have u fullfill the requirements? (look documentation)

2. Have you installed Network Adapter?

In my case, I have wireless Connection, using DHCP.

I disable this Network and install and use

Microsoft Loopback Adaptor.

How?

Start-ControlPanel-AddHardware-AddNewHardwareDevice-

InstallHardwareManuallyfromlist-NetworkAdapter-Microsoft-

MicrosoftLoopbackAdapter...fill IPAddr and

Subnetmask ( IP Addr: 10.10.0.10,Subnet Mask:

255.255.255.0)...restart windows

Note:

you have to configure your host file.

(C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\host)

let say my host name is ladasan and my ip address is 10.10.0.10, so

I write ...

#127.0.0.1 localhost <-- mark #

10.10.0.10 [hostname]

...example:

#127.0.0.1 localhost <-- mark #

10.10.0.10 ladasan

ladasan is my hostname

3. Make sure, your computer name is not more than 13 char

4. Make sure, antivirus and firewall is off

How to shutdown firewall?

start-connectto-showallconnection

rightclick network-advance-windowsfirewallsetting- general-

offFirewall

5. Stop others process

6. Make sure harddisk & memory size is enough

7. Make sure, installation file size is fine

8. Make sure that no other SAP system is installed on your

computer (Step -1 is required).

9. If the installation is complete and there is an option, " start

the application server" and "start SAP management console"

I suggest that unmark those option and finish the Installation.

Step 3. Install SAP management Console manually

C:\SAP\sapmmc\sapmmcX86u.msi

SAP MMC is used for monitor SAP process (Please see the SAP documentation)

Step 4 Install SAP Logon

C:\SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12\SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12\SAPGUI\SapGuiSetup.exe

SAP GUI is used for SAP user Interface (Please see the SAP documentation)

2. What is the step to run sap netweaver?

After your installation is finished,

step 1. try run SAP manually

Start-program-sapnetweaverabaptrialver-nsp-startapplicationserver

IF application server is run (green) please see next step

If failed, well we have to see log err...what is the problem..???

step 2. run SAPMMC to monitor SAP

start-program-SAPManagementConsole.

there are two process list running.msg_server.exe and disp+work.exe

Most of problem is msg_server is running well (green) but disp+work is stop (yellow or even grey)

3. What should we do if disp+work is not active?

Here is some scenario as reference..
