Hello

when I am executing 2KEE and KE5Z reports with same input parameters(selections) I am getting the different result, what is the major difference between these reports and why I am getting different results and which report is correct?. Can you please explain me in details

Hello,

2KEE - specific to the period being specified ih the parameter screen (eg, if you put in period 1 the report will only show you all period 2 PCA postings)

KE5Z - always shows Year to date balance up to the period specified on the screen (eg if you put in period 2, the amount that the report will show you is the total of the postings made from period 1 to 2)

HI,

You may see discrepancies in these two reports in case you are having multiple SAP instances and you are using PCROLL to transfer PCA Amounts to the central SAP system.

2KEE report is based on GLPCA Table and KE5Z is based on GLPCT Table.

If you have PCROLL IDOCS then they only update the GLPCT Table and not the GLPCA Table. Hence, causing the discrepancy.

HI,

The purpose of both the reports are different. 2KEE is the summary of the profit center record which means the summary of all the line items for a particular profit center under a particular account number. This report is using the table GLPCT-EC-PCA Totals table wheres KE5Z is a purely a line item reporting using the table GLPCA-EC-PCA Actual line items.

Hello Bhuvaneswari,

In what way the purpose of both the reports are different?.

I have taken one profit center for comparison with one GL account, for both reports i am getting diffrent values,

can you please let me know why we will have two diffrent result for same selection parameter and for same profit center and GL account

Hi,

All the data reflected in Profit Center Accounting is stored in the totals record table GLPCT. This table contains data which is summarized according to certain characteristics and forms the basis for all reports defined with the Report Writer or the Report Painter (regardless of whether or not you choose to store line items).

Hi,

please check SAP note 180906. Maybe it has something to do with the different update logic for postings being done into PCA with the periodic transfer programs 1KE*. For these postings you have to enter different selection criteria in terms of "period" as described in the note.

Otherwise SAP can only offer a Z-Report to rebuild totals records based on line items, not vice versa and that report workds also not for the 1KE* programs.

Hi

2KEE- profit center total records: Take single profit center then u can uderstand

KE5Z- profit center actual line item; Take single profit center then u can uderstand compare both of those
