HANA Repository (thing of the past?)- or Git ?

Hello there,

I have a question regarding HANA Repository in DHW.

Is the HANA Repository still used in Data Warehousing after HANA 2.0 SPS 2 or is it a thing of the past and now everything is done through Git ?

I don't really understand weather its still a subject we should learn about or just ignore.

With HANA 2.0 SPS02 it was officially announced that SAP HANA XS Classic and the SAP HANA repository are deprecated and that these components will be removed with the next major release. Details can be found in SAP note 2465027.

For you it means that you should absolutely should learn the new concepts of HANA XS Advanced including Git which is used for source code management (and further things) instead of the HANA repository.

If you have existing implementations based on HANA XS Classic you should plan also the migration to HANA XS Advanced.
