bold Dear all

I am trying to integrate SAP library with CRM server.

I have followed the steps mentioned in the Online documentation CD ( Read me and online

documentation PDF fils).

I am trying to install HTMTHelp library.

I have followed the following steps :

-

1. Copy the directory Htmlhelp\Helpdata\<language key> with all its subdirectories

from the DVD to the documentation directory on the server.

Later defined the setup variants.

1 . T.code SR13

2 . select the HtmlHelpFile tab page.

Switched to the change mode and entered the following details :

Variant = saphelp

platform = windowsNT

Area = IWBHELP

Path = c:\sapdcoument\HTMLHelp

Language = EN

Defaul = enable

I have saved the changes and it asked me to create the change request.

      • i have made these changes in the client 000 ***

When i click on the Help -> Application help or SAP library under the help menu

it is giving me the error " No Documentation available ".

Could some one help me with this.

Regards

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

The 'path' data refers to the place where your online documentation has been installed, not your local drive. Your SAP software is unlikely to 'know' about 'c:\sapdcoument\HTMLHelp' network share.

The Path is more likely to look like

DOCSERVER01\HTMLHELP

or wherever you installed the help files. This makes it available to everyone who may be using your system.

If you wish to install helpfiles locally on each PC, then you additionally have to make entries in your SAPDOCCD.INI file on each PC. For more help on installing help on the local PCs, refer to

I have shared the helpdirectory which is located on the server and

it is accessible in the network from all the PC ( frontend ).

But when i try to accesss it is throughing an error and when i look

in the SAPDOCCD log file located in the Windows directory i find this error.

I am posting the SAPDOCCD file. kindly suggest if you have any solution

Hi,

Pls check your entries in SR13.

The URL contains twice the language indicator ...\HELPDATA\EN\EN... which off course results in an incorrect web address.

Rgds.

Hi,

Thanks for you reply.

How ever i am trying to install HTMLHelp ( help file located locally on the server )

I have copied the Help Files on the server in one of the folders ( which is ofcourse shared )and

gave that to give that shared folder path in SR13.

And when i am trying to get help ( it throughing me an error ).

Any help on will be appriciated.

Kiran,

Do not include the \EN folder in the path. This will be added automatically by the program from the language indicator in your customizing. If you include it, as Jos said, it will appear twice and the path will then be incorrect.

Hi Matt.

As you have said i have removed one \EN from the path in SR13 tcode, and tried to access

help again this time it is giving me the error without one \EN folder.

Something like this "
idescrm\SAP\CRM\HELPDATA\EN\e18e5134.

I have shared the Helpfolder and i am able to access over the network.

Hoping you would help me.

Hi Kiran

you need to mention the path only till this "
idescrm\SAP\CRM\HELPDATA

EN shuould be mentioned under the Language Column.

server name : you can mention as 'help.sap.com' if the user have access to the net or the local server where the files are located

Hi Shaji

I am trying to install HTMLHELPFILE not htmlhelphttp ( which is used to access internet ).

My requirement is put all the help files on the server and share it on the network

and configure it through SR13.

What is the SAP GUI patch level, I had a similar issue sometime back, after applying SAPGUI patch it worked fine.

Pls check

Kiran,

Your entry type of "WinNT" for platform might be the problem. This one is obsolete and shouldn't be used. Instead use "WN32". I used this quite successfully. Note 333584 mentions this point.

Also, if you use Windows Vista on your frontend, make a note of Note 1031774. You need at least sapgui patch 1 for gui 710.

Finally, Note 857216 may be applicable for use of .chm help files in Microsoft environments, though this isn't the error you're describing (it's one we encountered a few years ago and resolved then).

However, I really think the problem might be the "WnNT" instead of "WN32" as platform type.

what i want to know is what do i mention in the path field if i have to access the help for CRM server,
