Sending mails to external mail addresses

Former Member

We are trying to send out mails, from Business workplace/scot.

When we specify an internal company mail address it works fine.

If we specify an external email address is does not work (send option: external) and we get the following error:

The following status was received for the document <test> sent by you to the recipient <mail@outside.com>:<No delivery to , as recipient unknown>.

We have checked that relaying is allowed at our exchange server. An valid e-mail address is specified for the sending user.

We use R/3 4.7 ext2

Have anyone experienced this error?

Is this error message caused by SAP or exchange?

Any input welcome.

Regards

Brian

The steps are as follows.

2. Double click on SMTP, a screen "sap connect" will popup.

Here give details for SMTP Connection

Under "Supported address types"

check the "internet"

Then click on button "Set"

then another pop window will appear. HERE GIVE * FOR IN THE ADDRESS AREA.

Then save it.

If you are using local mailserver then check your mailserver configuration.

In my company we use local unix sendmail and the sendmail.cf is relaying all the email to our mailserver (exchange server). I assuming your exchange server allows you to send email to any addresses.

Hi,

Please follow the Note 455140 to set up the mail configuration in SAP.

1.In your case double click the SMTP node and in the settings put * to allow all addresses.

2.From menu option set the defaut domain as <fqdn.com>

3.Activate the SMTP port if it HP-UX try to bind the port if it less than 1024.Or you can change the SMTP port to 25000 or 25001 and try the process.

Thanks,

Sagar Askani.
