BPC Conditional formatting - Local member

Hi, We are using BPC conditional formatting on a LOCAL MEMBER showing variance between Actual & Budget - In the conditional formatting manage rules for local member we have show as

Red - if less than 0

Green - if greater than 0

sign.jpg

However, due to the natural signage of BPC which is show INC as - even though it is Net profit which BPC is showing as -, the color is coming up as red. How to overcome this.

we need to see profit as positive/green and expense if less than budget as positve..

Sorry, but I unable to understand your issue. In my test:

You can clearly see that EPMComparison will provide correct negative result if ACT < BUD

Same correct result if Net income ACT is negative and BUD - positive:

etc.

If Net income for ACTUAL is higher than BUDGET then also it gives negative result as BPC shows - sign for all INC accounts.

Requirement is to show the variance as RED if expense accounts Actual are overshooting the budget. If Actual Expense is less than budget then show as GREEN.

Similarly if INC accounts for eg. Net profit for Actual is less than Budgeted, it should show as RED and if higher than budgeted it should show as GREEN.

How can we achieve this.?

On conditional formatting for Local Member we have

Green ---- $A$1 > 0

RED ----- $A$1 < 0

This cell reference is of the local member in the formatting sheet.

Now even though INC (net profit) Actual is higher than budget but becoz it is INC account, it shows as negative thereby RED which is not the requirement. How can we achieve the above requirement.

"If Net income for ACTUAL is higher than BUDGET"

Then the result of comparison will be positive:

What's the issue?????????????????????

"If Net income for ACTUAL is higher than BUDGET then also it gives negative result as BPC shows - sign for all INC accounts." Sorry but in correct report with correct setup the result will be POSITIVE (look on my screenshot)!

And conditional formatting has no relation to the question!

Test without any formatting and you will see correct results.

Please refer to below screenshot. The issue is since Actual profit is higher than budget it should not show as red, and since FX P/L is higher in Actual it should not show as green. How to achieve this.

We want net profit to show as green, and unrealised gain/loss as red.

Thanks

Can you attach condition format's formula?

Just add more checking on the ACCTYPE using EPMMemberProperty formula

Sorry, but what is the issue?

On the screenshot I see comparison between actual and budget. For revenue the result is negative - looks correct!

P.S. Please do not attach pictures with "Insert File", use "Insert Image" instead: https://answers.sap.com/articles/351263/hate-list.html
