what is differnce between code list mapping & ID List Mapping in C4C

need to know more clarity about the difference between code list mapping & ID List Mapping in C4C . How to identify which list is pertains to code list & which is for ID list .

1. Code lists are code values defined in the fine tuning in SAP Cloud for Customer and the Customizing of on-premise system. These codes are used as selection values for field help.

2. ID Mapping generally deals with number range of Customer, Products etc. Master data.

Just wanted to know how to identify code values defined in fine tuning .

I understand ID mapping is the mapping of number range of Product ,Customer & Master Data so the product range also defined in fine tune .

So need more clarification about code list mapping & how to identify the code filed value .
