Hello,
i setup a ESS 600 Track in the NWDI and also entered the Runtime System for the Dev Portal.
Unfortunatly i didn't check the "disable Automatic deployment" option.
The result is now that the ESS is from the NWDI, which makes a update a little bit more work than it needs. I didn't change the original ESS or activated any SCs.
Is there a solution to undeploy the NWDI ESS ?
Regards,
Kai
Why is it a little bit more work with NWDI and why did you create an ESS track in the first place if you do not intend to modify it?

Hi Pascal,
its is more work, since you have to upload the SCA file for the ESS to the NWDI and the other stuff to the Portal.
My intention was to try out the NWDI. There are some things in the ESS which are not really userfriendly.
If I have modified version, do I need to use the NWDI to update the ESS ? Would not giving the files to the Administrator a solution too ?
The NWDI is a beast that i want to use only if I have to.

Kai
Hi Kai,
Still I didn't understand what is your problem in using NWDI. The best way to do customization with ESS and MSS is use NWDI. If you don't use NWDI and if your planning for any customizations in ESS and MSS you will end up with lot of troubles. NWDI is the best and easy way to do modification with ESS. I never faced any kind of problem with customizing ESS using NWDI. Can elaborate what is your problem in using NWDI.

Praveen
Hi Navin,
i just want to use the NWDI to have it as a repository. It is too complicated and I don't need it.
But I don't feel well knowing that the NWDI is connected to the Dev System.
And since the ESS and MSS packages will be soon only in Webdynpro for ABAP and not WDP for Java,
I don't want to to spend to much time with the NWDI.
So the question is still:
how can i undo the runtime connection to the Dev system and also remove the deployed ESS package ?
Kai
