What has to happen to make our Windows 2012 R2 application deployable to the SAP Cloud?

Is it possible to get a dedicated server within the SAP Cloud Platform? We have a .NET application currently running on a Windows 2012 R2 server in our environment we would like to move into the SAP Cloud.

However, we are not interested in rewriting or modifying our application in order to make it deployable to the SAP Cloud. The application depends on a third-party foundation we cannot modify and the foundation is dependent on the 4.5.2 ASP.NET framework. The application is currently running in IIS on a Windows 2012 R2 server and we would need to be able to deploy the application without modification to a server in the SAP Cloud. I know AWS is the IaaS behind the SAP Cloud Platform and that I can stand up a dedicated Windows server there.

Perhaps it is new or is custom since I don’t find it on the store for purchase. We specifically want a Windows VM and this seems to show managing SUSE Linux VMs. Seems like a Windows VM should be possible too. Hopefully this will help guide you to the right parties.

Is this possible using SAP Cloud Platform? We are not interested in rewriting or modifying our application in order to make it deployable to the SAP Cloud.

Hi Gabriel,

At the moment, this is not possible to move your .NET application on Windows Servers to the NEO or Cloud Foundry environments. As you stated below, the VM help link is for the NEO environment which only have SUSE Linux VMs.

For the Cloudy Foundry, you will have to rewrite your .NET application using CF technology. I have included two samples tutorials for you to follow.

Hope this helps,

-Jin
