Creating ABAP users

I cannot use LDAP or HCM as my source system or leading system for data since many of our users are not employees of our company.

How can I use NW Identity Management to create the LDAP and ABAP user IDs? I see there are jobs to create LDAP users in the templates provided. But I don't see anything for creating ABAP users.

I was hoping there would be a way to request a user ID via IdM for all of our systems rather than depending on the user to be fed into IdM from either LDAP or HCM.

    Hi,

ABAP users are the users created in the Portal. You should find one of the Tasks to create an ABAP user.

You can create a Workflow Task that updates the Idstore with the Unique ID....like the MSKEYVALUE. which can then be customised to use the CREATE LDAP user and CREATE ABAP user tasks when approved.

You might have to manupulate MSKEYVALUE to autogenerate values for users that are entered on the Web workflow by a manager.

I was using the wizard and could not find an appropriate template. I see there is a task in the Provisioning Framework to create an ABAP user. I linked to this task but got a warning that MXP_PROV_BASIC was not active when I attempted to "test the provisioning task".

    Two questions:

Is it better to link to an existing task or to copy an existing task?

    What is MXP_PROV_BASIC?
