Hi,
We are planning to upgrade from crm4.0 to crm 2007. Do we need a separate hardware for the implementing the Groupware in CRM 2007.
Kindly help me in this regard.
Thanks
Naveen
Hi naveen,
were you using GW integration in CRM4.0 or it it being configured for the first time in CRM2007.
You can use ABAP MAPBOX which is very simle to operate and maintain and user friendly compared to java Mapbox.
The hardware requirement depends on your landscape and if your client has different locations and these are to be integrated with groupware then you would need different groupware connector and connector proxy machines pointing towards them.
it is ideal to have seperate groupware connector and connector proxy machine and there could be mapbox on crm server.
You can find more useful information on service marjket place->release and upgrade info->SAP business suite applications->SAP CRM->SAP CRM2007->Master guide 2007
Thanks

Hi AS,
Are you using Java or ABAp mapbox?
In case you are using Java mapbox then you need to check the Url http://server Ip address:port/mapboxlauncher and if your map box is active then the start button is greyed out and if it not then stop button is deactivated.
Or you can also check through SM59, the rfc connection used for mapbox and see if the test connection is working fine or not.
hope this helps
Thanks and reward points if helpful

Hi
We are planning on using the ABAP Mapbox. I configured the MAPBOX RFC destination in SM59.
However, I got an error when I do the test connection.
Is there anything else that I need to do?
Thanks
Edwin

Naveen,
You will not need separate hardware for the mapbox, as it becomes part of the CRM ABAP core. However the groupware connector itself, will require separate hardware. From what I understand the connector that sits in front of Lotus Notes/Exchange is still the same for CRM 2007 as it was in CRM 40.
You should download the master guide for CRM 2007 in the service marketplace. It should answer a lot more of your questions in terms of landscape planning based on your functional scenarios.
Good luck,
Stephen
