product grading using SAP

Hi, I am looking for best practices for managing the grading process within SAP.

Our products are graded constantly during the life cycle and me do material to material transfers when grade change ( downgrade) . We are storing the grade information in the batch characteristics and use this information for grading process, which tends to be more manual. The grading process has defined frequency say 1 month, 6 month and 9 months depending on the aging. and the frequency may change after the first grading.

The user has to maintain a huge excel document today to manage all these information to plan for the grader and with warehouse spread across country it becomes more complex.. Is there a standard solution which can help to plan grading more effectively.

If this info is in batch characteristics why use spread sheets?

CL30N should be allow you to create all the lists you need based on values of the batch characteristics.

The batch cockpit (BMBC) can do the same, In addition BMBC allows you to create work folders of batches and save them, share them, and recall them. After grading they should be able to create work lists of the various grades for the next re-grading. In addition to printing directly from SAP, these can be easily exported to excel with a few clicks and printed if you need printouts for people to work from.
