Dear experts,
We have the following case.
We have a client who has been using SAP Business One 9.2 with non-Pertual Inventory System for 2 years now. However, they requested to switch to Perpetual System. We know that for this task, a new database has to be created. Is there any way to massively transfer legacy transactional data (Marketing Documents, Journal Entries) to the new database without using Data Transfer Wizard?
Kind regards,
Gerasimos Spyratos
Hi Gerasimos,
To my knowledge the DTW is the only tool provided by SAP for this purpose. There have been SAP Partners who have built their own migration tools with the DI API, or B1if, but I don't think these have ever been offered for sale.
At any rate, there is no way sanctioned by SAP to migrate closed transactional data. I know of a SAP Partner building a tool for that purpose once, but again, it was not approved by SAP, and the customer was made aware that it would void their SAP support.
So for open transactional data, I suggest that you prepare a set of queries to fill the DTW templates, and then perform the migration on a (long) weekend.
Regards,
Johan
