We maintain a customer description of material in VD52 in R/3.
Now we downloaded the materials to CRM5.0.
Now we cant see the customer material description in CRM. we can see the short text of the material master record.
CRM Guys do you have the knowledge where the customer material description is stored in CRM.(tables or Fields)?
When we are debugging we can see the description while CRM is processing the BDOC but we cant figure where it is getting stored in CRM.
the requirement we have is when the user is trying to create sales orders using the ISA channel the customer's description should appear instead of the short text from the material master record
So we are trying to figure out where this data is stored in CRM

Thanks Ravi,
I am seeing the customer Mat info record added as relationship on the product master on the Custr/Distr chain tab but the description tab is empty.
I cant see the customer description entered in R/3 in the CRM screen
Can you please let me know how I can transfer the customer description entered in R/3 to CRM
Hi all,
SAP replied on this issue and it is clear that , this functionality is not supported by SAP.
See SAP's reply.
Hello Swapnil,
I checked the product master data in your CRM system and searched
relevant documents, I am afraid that the requested functionality
is not provied by standard. The developer had confirmed that
only the customer material id is downloaded to CRM from OLTP system.
The reason is that in the BDOC and in CRM there is no field to store
the description of the customer material number. So it is not posible
to exchange it. Because the datasets of CRM and R3 are not the same.
I am sorry for this negative answer. I attach note 11 which outlines howyou can create a development request so that this functionality may
be realized in the future. The only other option is to create your own
Bdoc type including the descrption field but this is quite a big
modification as you would also need to include mapping for the field.
Kind regards,
Vanessa Donegan.
