GTIN Mapping configuration not working while posting Inbound Sales Order IDOC

Hi All,

I have setup all the necessary configuration for GTIN Mapping under the IMG-> SD->BF-> GTIN Mapping. Also, maintained the Condition record using EAN1 transaction.

While processing the Inbound IDOC with QUALF= 003 and IDTNR = EAN Number in E1EDP19 segment, system fails saying Material XXXX is not defined in Sales Org XXX and Dist. Ch XX.

Is there anything that I have missed in the configuration. Please advise.

Regards

the message does not complain about missing mapping to a material, it just says that you have not maintained a sales view. Is this message not true and understandable?

The message is incorrectly issued, the entered material is a GTIN number. System should determine the material code associated with this GTIN no.

Doesn't the message already tell you that your material master is not maintained for your Xs

have you already double checked, e.g. with SE16N, if you find more than 1 material for your GTIN number.

It is hard to help when you not show the situation, e.g. a screenshot from the GTIN in the material that you expect to find and the same view from the material that was found, as well as the content of the IDOC from E1EDP19 (qualifier 002 and 003)

I still doubt that SAP would pick a random material number and asking you to maintain the sales views.

    Hi Jurgen

    Thanks for your quick response.

The material master is mapped to the GTIN. The issue is system is not recognizing the entered material is a GTIN number and it should find out the associated item code.

    Hi Saurabh,

I had the same issue like you and got it finally working. The BADI IDOC_DATA_MAPPER_IM is not activated in standard SAP and therefore the coding is not processed. If you activate the BADI it works. But in general I found out that this GTIN MAPPING function has some disadvantages, because it runs before the mappings of transactions VOEx. So you need to have data like sales organization, order type etc. in the incoming IDOC. Now I'm thinking about using material substitution instead, which runs later and works as well in VA01.

    Regards
