Table import using sqlplus

Hi All

We have a z table and I have kept a copy of the table into the database. The table data will be changed and after that i plan to copy that data back into the table using the copy i have already created.

Do i need to restart the system to see the data again?

Can i do it in the live system?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help. Of course shall award points for useful suggessions.

Can anyone suggest if there is any risk involved in this strategy. The z tables are accessed by only a z program which writes and reads data from the tables.

We are using oracle 9 and solaris 9
