All are right Sales Area is a combination of

1. Sales Organization - from where the product is going to sell on which organization accounting entry to be created

2. Distribution Chl. - From where the material is going whether it is a factory or Depot

3. Division - tells what is going type of material.

Only after feeling the above information along with cocd and Document type a sales order can be created.

Reward point if useful.

hello, friend.

the others are right. sales area is a combination of sales org, distribution channel and division.

the sales area is an essential part of SD transaction processing. you assign customers, materials and documents to a sales area. sales area can also influence your pricing. and unless you do these assignments, you will not be able to do SD transactions.

other objects that may need assignment to the sales area, if you require, are Sales Info System objects (header and items), credit control area, business area, free goods determination, etc.

hope this helped.

regards.

Dear Jyotirmoy

It is a combination of Sales Organization, Distribution Channel and Division.

Based on this combination only, you will be able to create any sale orders. Unless you assign the sales area to your sale order type in OVAZ, you cannot create a sale order.

thanks

Hi,

Sales area is a combination of

Sales Organization

Distribution Channel

Division

A sales area requires atleast 1 sales organization, 1 distribution channel & 1 division. Without a sales area sales order cannot be created.

IMG - enterprise structure - assignment - sales & distribution -

Assign sales organization to company code.

Assign distribution channel to sales organization

Assign division to sales organization

Set up sales area.

Sales area is a combination of sales organization, distribution channel, and division.

Sales organization: An organizational unit that sells and distributes products, negotiates terms of sale, and is responsible for these transactions.

Distribution channel: Channel through which salable materials or services reach customers. Typical distribution channels include wholesale, retail and direct sales. You can assign a distribution channel to one or more sales organizations.

Division: Product groups can be defined for a wide-ranging spectrum of products. For every division you can make customer-specific agreements on, for example, partial deliveries, pricing and terms of payment. Within a division you can carry out statistical analyses or set up separate marketing.

These 3 units combined makes a sales area.

This sales area is used for selling goods to customers.

Hope this explains.
