Multiple Level Variant Configuration with Class Type 300 as Class Item in BOM

Hi,

I am trying to achieve multi-level configuration in sales order. I am able to trigger configuration for the first level only, but not the subsequent levels.

Below is an illustration of structure of material, class and bom.

I have defined material FG as the finished goods and its BOM

In the FG BOM, I have assigned class FG_OPTION as class item

I have defined material SMG-2 as the semi finished goods and its BOM

Material SMG-2 is classified under class FG_OPTION

In the SMG-2 BOM, I have assinged class SMG_OPTION as class item

I have defined material SMG-3 as a lower level of semi finished goods and its BOM

Material SMG-3 is classified under class SMG_OPTION

In the SMG-3 BOM, there is only stock item

Level 1 FG -

Class FG_OPTION -

Lever 2 SMG_2 -

Class SMG_OPTION -

Level 3 SMG3 -

Stock items

In sale order, I entered FG, and I am able to trigger FG_OPTION for configuration at level 2, then I selected SMG_2 which I expect the configuration for SMG_OPTION

at level 3 should be triggered but it did not.

I have also tested to enter SMG_2 directly in sales order, I am able to trigger SMG_OPTION configuration.

I have activated multiple level bom indicator in Configuration profile already.

Am I missing something here? Please help?

Thanks in advance
