CRM UI/EP portal - SSO

Hi,

Our current scenario allows external users to access SAP ABAP CRM system using a public DNS (https://my.company.com) via SAP WebDispatcher (SWD). The SWD forwards the incoming request to an EP Portal. Users are then prompted for user id and password (using local UME) and via SSO mechanisms they are finally logged in SAP ABAP CRM.

The above-mentioned scenario works fine. A new request has arisen, however. End users should now be able to access CRM UI directly from an embedded URL in an email:

https://my.company.com/sap/uif_logon/default.htm?crm-object-type=CRM_SRQM_INCIDENT&crm-object-action...

By hitting the above URL, users are correctly forwarded to SAP ABAP CRM but they are prompted for user id and password. End users don't have credentials on SAP ABAP CRM. The only credentials they know are those for EP Portal. SAP CRM ABAP and EP Portal IDs are the same.

What would be the best approach to get end users logged in (without user id and password) after hitting URL from the email they received? Is it possible to add the "&sap-user" parameter in the URL and via an SSO mechanisms issued from SAP CRM ABAP to EP Portal get them logged?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Regards
