Checking FTP sites

Dear All,

In my organisation we are using over 10 FTP's to transfer and to receive data. I want to create one scenario in XI which should monitor if all the FTP sites are active or not, in case any FTP site is not active then a respective alert should be trigerred to inform the administrator.

Please guide me on how to check this.

Ideally speaking, XI (or any EAI tool for that matter) should not be used for such a requirement. Although I can think of an alternative, it is not a recommended solution. So I wish not to discuss about the same.
